While in Greenville, we stopped back by one of our favorite antique stores. It's where we found our salvaged fireplace mantel ~ shown here. Unfortunately, they have closed up shop, but not before we got a great deal on this primitive church pew. Originally used in a late 1800's church in Blue Ridge, North Carolina, we plan to incorporate in into our mudroom design.

Dog Days Of Summer

Our pup is now 9 months old!

Some of his favorite outdoor activities include playing fetch, getting dirty and cooling off in his pool.

On our recent trip to Maine, we found this No. 1 Autographic Kodak Jr. at a flea market outside of Wiscasset. For only $10 we plan to display it on our Ikea Expedit ~ shown here.

After the addition of our West Elm Sweep Armchairs ~ shown here ~ and the Arrival of our Pottery Barn Sofa ~ shown here ~ our living room is starting to take shape! More photos to come.

Recent Travels

We have a lot to be thankful for lately! House projects have been on hold while we've been visiting with family & friends.

We started with a road trip to Greenville for Andrew's Graduation. He gave us one final tour of Furman and the Cliff's Cottages.

We've also celebrated quite a few nuptials:

Catey & Scott got hitched in Richmond, Virginia

Carly & Jason tied the knot in Salem, Massachusetts

Chrisanna & Andrew made it official in Sebago, Maine

With all the traveling we were able to squeeze in trips to Charleston, Boston and Maine!

And of course came home to begin our front porch makeover ~ shown in the following posts:

Front Porch Makeover ~ Part IV

{Front Porch Makeover ~ Part IV: Taking Shape}

We made a lot of progress on Days 4 & 5. We started by staining the porch. We used the same stain as we did on the back deck ~ see that project here.

We also finished sanding and painting the ceiling that we added during Part III of this project.

We then started work on the railing. We primed, then assembled the bottom and top rails.

We were interepted by a massive thunderstorm prior to finisishing both sides. But we're pleased with how far we got during this part of the project!
