Primitive Church Pew

{Old Church Pew}
While in Greenville, we stopped back by one of our favorite antique stores. It's where we found our salvaged fireplace mantel ~ shown here. Unfortunately, they have closed up shop, but not before we got a great deal on this primitive church pew. Originally used in a late 1800's church in Blue Ridge, North Carolina, we plan to incorporate in into our mudroom design.

  1. LOVE IT!
    sometimes see pews on craigslist. usually too big for our space. maybe one of these days i should pick one up, saving it (possibly out back under patio cover?) for SOMEDAY...like future entryway or sumpin?

  2. That's a great idea mamkt! While we wait to work on our mudroom, we currently have ours in our kitchen. Confession ~ we've been known to purchase statement pieces, even if we don't currently have a space for them. If we LOVE it, then we know we'll find it a permanent home! Good luck finding one to work in your space!

  3. Oooooh, I just love your church pew! Are you going to apply wood finish on it? Hm, I think it’s beautiful the way it is. Its “old” look is part of its charm. Hope you don’t mind this, but I suggest that you have several pillow covers available so you can change the look of this pew every now and then. Bold or metallic shades of blue, gold, pink and red are perfect for your pew.
