Mirror Image

{Mirror, Mirror On the Wall}
During a recent trip to Ikea we came across this mirror {shown above}. It reminded me of one I'd been eyeing at a local thrift/consignment store. While Ikea's prices are typically a bargain, not in this case!
I've been eyeing this old metal mirror for a couple months now. Originally priced at $60, the shop takes off 10% for every month it sits idle. I waited...and waited...until finally 5 months had passed. I contemplated waiting another month, but figured it would sell.
So at $30 this one came out cheaper than it's Ikea look-a-like!

Country Living Fair 2011

{Country Living Fair ~ Stone Mountain}
A little over a month ago my Mom and I went to the Country Living Fair. Not knowing what to expect we were thrilled to find so many vendors with antiques and vintage finds!
We scored some amazing finds ~ big and small. Of our larger deals my mom and I both bought vintage theatre seats. Truth be told my mom came across hers first ~ and I had to copy! She's planning to paint hers {shown below} ~ possibly stencil numbers on the front and use them in the Colorado house.
I came across mine in the Repurpose tent. These were found by Cari from HGTV's Cash & Cari. She was kind enough to take a moment to tell me that she found them while going through an old Michigan Farm. How fun is that?!
I have additional finds I'll share later and for anyone considering going next year...it's a MUST!

So Much To Be Thankful For

{Happy Thanksgiving}
This year we loaded up the car and made a quick trip to Charleston
The food was over the top and amazing! Great job Mom!
I was so preoccupied with enjoying it all, that I didn't take any photos of the feast. I did however make it a point to document my brother's pie making!
And it wouldn't be Thanksgiving at the Cannon's without a game of football. And in true competitive spirit we had teams {Army vs. Navy ~ Lucas' choice} and made last-minute jerseys.

Even Rawley got into the game and enjoyed his first Thanksgiving!

Bedroom Makeover ~ Part II

{Paint It}
After yesterday's demolition, we were ready to go with painting. Brian got a head start on cutting in, while I layed plastic and taped the room. Then we primed the ceiling and finished it off with two coats of a flat ceiling white from Lowes ~ all of which we had leftover from previous projects.
Still a bit undecided on the wall color ~ we went ahead and used Benjamin Moore's Hush which we had leftover from our Living & Dining room. Thus far we haven't purchased any additional items for this project! That's always an added bonus!

Bedroom Makeover ~ Part I

{Let The Demolition Begin}
Having put off work on our own bedroom for way too long, we're excited to get the ball rolling! Pat happened to be in town for the night and offered to give us a helping hand in taking down the popcorn ceiling. We hoped to find the same tongue and groove slats that we found here in our guest bedroom.
And to our excitement we did!
A small hole quickly turned into a large one and before we knew it the entire ceiling was down.

While Brian worked on sanding the ceiling ~ Pat and I worked on removing all the trim.

It was a HUGE help having an extra hand (thanks Dad!) Within two hours we had the popcorn ceiling down, trim off, original ceiling sanded and room cleaned!
