Bathroom Renovation ~ Part I

Pat has been in Atlanta a couple of times this month and has been a huge help. The boys were able to patch the three foot hole in the bathroom wall, while at the same time fixed the plumbing. They also gave me the gift of an outlet in the bathroom ~ no more blow-drying my hair in the bedroom! With installing a new outlet: measure twice, drill once. {Reference last photo on the right}

The Colorado House is coming together beautifully! It inspired us a lot with our own house ~ and Pat and Brenda were nice enough to let us get some practice in.

Barn Door Rollers

{Our Search Began in Kennebunk, Maine}

We were thrilled to see the amazing collection of architectural salvage dating from the 1730’s to the 1930’s at

The Old House Parts Company.

We found a set of rollers we really liked {reference the photo above right}, unfortunately, they were not for sale.

It wasn’t until we found ourselves in Hollis, Maine:

Earlier in the day we had run into Pete at an antique store in Kennepunkport. He suggested we come out to his land in Hollis where he as an abundance of antiques. He had quite a few options for barn door rollers, and we hit the jackpot when he showed us 2 sets of Myers Rollers dating back to the early 1900's. The best part? They were still on the original barn doors. Brian and Pete removed the hardware ~ thrilled with our find!

Pat came to help Brian instal the Ikea countertops. The boys also installed the dishwasher and hooked up the water to our fridge ~ can you say "goodbye, ice trays?"!
