Pat came to help Brian instal the Ikea countertops. The boys also installed the dishwasher and hooked up the water to our fridge ~ can you say "goodbye, ice trays?"!

It's Move In Day

We had the best movers ever ~ did lots of heavy lifting and still managed to have some fun.

Who Knew?

{Door Knobs}

Who knew there were so MANY options for door knobs. What was going to be a quick trip to Lowes {we were long overdue to change our front locks} ~ took a whopping 3 hours! It's a good thing I have an amazing husband. And from this day forward I promise to always appreciate everyone's front door locks ~ and the insane amount of time it took to pick them.

Kitchen Renovation ~ Part I

{Let the Kitchen Demolition Begin}
We began demo in the kitchen today. The current counter tops were the same tiles as the floor ~ they're the first thing to go in our kitchen overhaul.

Brian began filling in the wooden ceiling with wood glue and caulk.

A Lowes associate suggested we use backer rod for larger gaps ~ it was a huge help to cut down on time and cost.

Week 1 and we're already getting our hands dirty!
